So when I got a new car for Christmas, my in-laws all threw change and small bills onto the floor for good luck. My father in law says its an Italian thing. My father in law is thoroughly Irish, so maybe it’s a New Jersey thing? Who knows. So I collected the money and put it in a compartment now dubbed “the change holder” and haven’t thought about it since… Till this morning when I spilled coffee in it. I was cleaning it up and found this penny that is so corroded that at first I couldn’t tell what it was. The edges are mostly silver and the year stamp is long gone. I can’t decide if it is super special or just disgusting. The end.
Mont is having a tumor removed today, which is fine, been there before, it’s going to be no big deal. But there was one moment that was kind of pure awfulness. The moment when he realized I wasn’t coming with him. He took two steps, noticed that I wasn’t walking, stopped, turned around and looked at me, tilting his head to the side in confusion that quickly turned to sadness. “Come on” said the vet tech. Mont didn’t move, but kept eye contact with me. “Go on, Buddy”, I told him, then turned around and held my breath till I heard him walking. Since that memory makes my heart hurt, I instead choose to think of this morning in the car, with him sitting proud in the sunshine. He was born to ride shotgun.
My craftsy.com re-piecing the past quilt is officially finished. I learned so much about precise piecing. I was actually afraid of triangles before taking the class… can you imagine? Yeah, I got over that quick. I’m still not sure about how busy/colorful it is… if I were to do it over again… but, well, isn’t that always the case?
Oh and I would get this shirt for Bear (those guys are skreened.com are still geniuses). I really should have checked to see if he had ever seen star wars and/or star trek before marrying him. However, in fairness, he says he should have checked to see if I was a total dork before marrying me.
I am so tempted to get this shirt for my sister. It totally cracks me up. Those people at skreened.com are geniuses.
For the first time ever, we have tulips in our yard… Or to be more accurate, for the first time ever, the deer, rabbits, and squirrels did not eat every single tulip before they bloom. I am very excited about this. Big thanks go to Bear for applying deer repellant. Big thanks to me for bothering him till he did it. Happy spring everyone.
Oh and side note… Wouldn’t the pic be just perfect if not for the garbage can in the background. Ehh it’s garbage day, what ya gonna do?
My new glasses came yesterday… All 4 pairs. I heart zennioptical.com. Since I have fallen into the habit of wearing glasses every day to work, I really appreciate the option to wear a pair if glasses that goes with that day’s look or matches my mood. Thankfully my prescription hasn’t changed much at all in the last 4 years, so I can still wear my old glasses. Unfortunately, I have to find a new place to keep them bc they are taking up too much space on the bathroom counter.
